Pox, an ancestral spirit from the highlands of Chiapas, is meticulously crafted by the Tzotziles, also known as 'The Bat Men'. This spirit embodies a contemporary ritual for a modern world. We have developed a brand identity that emphasizes the significance of the Tzotziles, highlighting their rich heritage through modern design elements.
The brand identity merges traditional symbols from San Cristobal de las Casas and San Juan Chamula, like the cross, featured on the neck label, with a modern typeface and the bat symbol as a central motif. This fusion creates a contemporary look for this superbly artisanal spirit, which is gaining popularity and aiming to be recognized as the seventh denomination of origin in Mexico.
